Millwright - MS WPBField Station 3876BR Job Description This
position services (overhaul, diagnose and repair) all types of
District water control structure gates. Recondition and rebuild
gear boxes and equipment parts. Inventive ability to draw lay out
plans for fabrication and manufacture of parts where no
specifications exist. Inspect machinery and equipment to detect
malfunctions or need for repair, replacement, adjustment or
lubrication. Oversee repair work and provide technical direction.
Ability to properly and safely use hand and power tools, square,
rules, micrometers and dial indicators. Ability to skillfully use
metal bending machines. Ensure that all equipment is operating at
peak performance. Perform all aspects of welding, especially cast
iron to steel, using gas torch, arc welding and flame cutting
according to specifications, lay out plans, blueprints, drawings
and/or sketches, using the appropriate equipment and techniques.
Other Duties as Assigned. Employment Guidelines ( May be filled as
a Hydraulic Maintenance Mechanic ) The West Palm Beach Field
Station work hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00
p.m. Offices are closed on Friday. MILLWRIGHT EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE Typically has High School Diploma or GED and 6 years'
experience as a Millwright overhauling, diagnosing and repairing
water control structure gear boxes and associated ancillary
equipment. Five (5) years’ experience in fabrication and design in
arc, heliarc, mig, tig welding and thermal cutting *The hiring
range for this position is $ 57,033.60 to $ 69,555.20 (based on
education and years of relevant work experience). LICENSES AND
CERTIFICATIONS Valid State of Florida Driver's License (Required)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Due to the District's response role and in
the total scope of emergency management, this position may at
times, be required to provide support before, during and after
major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or
other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency
response role. Regularly sets up, adjusts, controls, tests and
operates equipment to complete assignments. Work environment may be
hot and humid with no facilities. Moves or otherwise transports
equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more. Agility, Balancing,
Climbing. Drive/operate equipment. Exposure to gases and/or fumes
(paint, welding, oil, grease, adhesive, chemical, herbicide, motor
solvent, carbon monoxide, dust). Eye-hand-foot coordination. Manual
dexterity. Move/transport equipment. Noise exposure. Prolonged
standing. Pulling. Pushing. Recognize color differences. Vision
(near vision-computer screen; far vision-driving/operating
equipment). Exposure to segmental vibration from use of impact
driven hand tools. Bending. HYDRAULIC MAINT MECHANIC : This
position performs heavy manual work in the installation, service
and repair of fluid power equipment and hydraulic systems on
District water structures, gates, tools and navigation locks. Other
Duties as Assigned. HYDRAULIC MAINT MECHANIC EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE Typically has High School Diploma or GED (Required) and
4 years' experience in fluid power and hydraulic driven equipment
installation and repair work (Required)The hiring range for this
position is $ 51,043.20 to $ 60,112.00 (based on education and
years of relevant work experience). LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
First Aid/CPR/AED (Required) Valid State of Florida Class B
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) without restriction to operate
vehicles equipped with manual transmission and air brakes, or the
ability to obtain a CDL Learner’s Permit within 2 months and/or CDL
License within 6 months from date of hire or placement in the job.
(Required) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Due to the District's response

ability to swim. Climbing. Crawling. Drive/operate equipment.

Noise exposure. Prolonged standing. Pulling. Pushing. Recognize
color differences. Repetitive bending. Squatting. Stooping. Vision
(near vision-computer screen; far vision-driving/operating
