an exciting opportunity for a full time Chief MRI Technologist to
work at Applebaum MRI Center in Miami. The incumbent is responsible
for the day-to-day operations and administrative duties ensuring:
efficient workflow of the section; compliance with budgetary
policy; ensuring the highest quality diagnostic examinations; and
compliance of State/Federal/Joint Commission regulations,
department/hospital policies and procedures, objectives and
philosophy. The Chief is accountable for the efficient patient
throughput and 24-hr supervisory responsibility of department and
of all departmental staff member's scheduling, technical guidance
and performance improvement. The chief technologist position
involves performing diagnostic/job duties as required of a MRI
technologist at a level that will require no supervision of
technical details.CORE JOB FUNCTIONSPerforms all duties of Level I
& II technologist.Supervises imaging services, including
performance or supervision of tests, and daily management of
assigned personnel.Assists in compilation of statistical data for
departmental evaluation purposes.Contributions to the preparation
of the annual departmental budget and development of administrative
and operational policies, procedures, and regulations.Responsible
for hire, discipline, and promotion of department staff.Obtains and
examines the diagnostic orders for appropriateness to the type of
exam ordered and any special notes or comments.Coordinate/manage
scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental
procedures.Collaborates in the development of in-service training
for departmental staff.Completes yearly performance appraisals for
the staff and handles requests for merit increases, promotions, and
disciplinary actions.This list of duties and responsibilities is

QUALIFICATIONSEducation:High school diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology /Diagnostic Imaging
Program.Certification and Licensing:Must possess a valid State of
Florida License as a General Radiographer.ARRT registered with ARRT
certification in primary modality required.CPR and BLS
certification required.Experience:Minimum 5 years of relevant
experience.Supervisory experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills and
Attitudes:Knowledge of business and management principlesAbility to
direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department
operations.Ability to establish department goals, and objectives
that support the strategic plan.Ability to effectively plan,
delegate and/or supervise the work of others.Ability to lead,
motivate, develop and train others.The University of Miami offers
