Job Description:
Description SUMMARY In support of the university’s mission and
objectives, the Manager of Military Affairs is responsible for
functions related to compliance, certification, and regulatory
tasks for military-connected students and their educational
benefits. This role ensures institutional adherence to all
applicable federal, state, and VA regulations. This position
provides operational support to the Director of Military Affairs in
related retention and recruitment activities for military-connected
students and the ROTC program. Veteran and Military Service Serves
as the university’s School Certifying Official (SCO) for
certification of veteran student records and maintains all VA
certification records in accordance with federal regulations.
Serves as liaison for veterans and military compliance matters to
Admissions, Student Accounts, Financial Aid, and Student Life.
Coordinates university-wide surveys, data collection and analysis
related to veterans and military student populations. Manages and
monitors compliance of federal and state regulations, as it
pertains to all veteran and military student issues. Manages and
coordinates annually, the Florida Department of Veteran Affairs
Catalog approval process. Manages and coordinates the university’s
Yellow Ribbon Program. Creates VA-related communications, ensuring
compliance across university web pages and newsletters (e.g. The
Wave). Ensures compliance of the social media sites for veterans
and military affairs (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).
Administers, manages, and supervises the Military Federal
Work-Study Program. Regulatory Compliance and Military Partnership
Management Coordinates and manages Veteran Affairs audits and
compliance reviews. Manages the Department of Defense Memorandum of
Understanding with all military service branches. Ensures
compliance with VA Transfer Credit policies and Joint Service
Transcripts (JST) evaluation processes. VA System and Reporting
Administration Serves as primary university contact for VA digital
processing systems. Manages and coordinates data entry for VA
Enrollment Manager education benefits system. Executes and
maintains compliance and reporting within the Department of Defense
education systems, including Academic Institutions (AI) Portal
Airforce system, Army Ignited system. Qualifications EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, or
equivalent experience. EXPERIENCE 2 years of experience in student
services, required. Must possess or be willing to obtain School
Certifying Official (SCO) status. Military experience is preferred.
